Retire your old flags respectfully

There’s a lot in the news about political protests and celebration this Saturday. That’s overshadowed an often overlooked national holiday — Flag Day.

Southborough Veterans are inviting the public to take part in their annual ceremony or drop flags off in advance.

The event will take place on June 14th at 6:00 pm:

Join the Southborough Veterans this Flag Day for a meaningful and respectful Flag Retirement Ceremony.

After a brief ceremony, we will properly retire the American flags that have been collected over the past year, honoring them in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code.

Have a flag that’s torn, faded, or worn? Now’s the perfect time to retire it with dignity. Drop it off in the collection box at the Control Station at the Transfer Station-or bring it with you to the ceremony and be part of this special tribute.

Let’s come together to show our respect for the symbol of our freedom.

As has been tradition for several years, the ceremony will take place down in the parking lot near the DPW office at 147 Cordaville Rd.

Updated (6/11/25 2:47 pm): I forgot to include the time of the ceremony stated in the flyer is 6:00 pm.
