Tonight is the last hurrah for the Rotary Club of Southborough’s Food Truck Festival this spring. It’s forecast to be a hot afternoon and gorgeous evening.
Here’s a reminder of the details.
On Wednesday, June 11th, attendees can head downtown to purchase snacks, dinner, and dessert from visiting food trucks. The vendors park on St. Mark’s School’s downtown field at the corner of Routes 85 & 30. (For more details on the vendors, scroll down.)
The trucks are scheduled for 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Last week, the field was hoppin’ in the evening. Immediately adjacent parking was hard to find. So, get there early or expect to walk a little bit further. (If you can’t find parking around the field area, there is plenty up the hill at the Town House and Pilgrim church or down the street either at 11 Main Street or the Woodward School parking lot on Cordaville Road.)
Rotary’s main purpose for organizing the annual festival is as a feel good, community event — with no admission fee. But, they also use it as a fundraising platform for a charitable initiative.
The Fundraiser
They partnered again with Main Street Bank to incentivize donations to a good cause. This year’s fundraising/collection was selected in honor of a hometown initiative that they recently honored two residents for founding.
They are collecting funds for a Pine Hill Meadow Farm Benefit. (To read more about how volunteers use the Pine Hill Meadow Garden to grow and harvest food to be donated to food programs helping people in need, click here..
Main Street Bank will generously provide a $10 voucher for each $20 donation made to the fundraiser. Vouchers can be used to make a purchase at any of the food trucks. Visit Rotary’s table at the festival for more information and to purchase a voucher (or just make a donation).
Enjoying the Festival
A few tables put out for the public to use, but those can fill up. So, be prepared to do what most families do — take advantage of the grassy field, using picnic blankets and/or chairs.
