Curtain Up holding auditions for Guys & Dolls tonight & tomorrow

Above: Auditions are open for the next adult musical to be held in town this fall.

A local, adult community theater group is promoting auditions it will hold tonight and tomorrow (Monday, June 23rd and Tuesday, June 24th).

Curtain Up is seeking performers for their next big production — Guys and Dolls.

While rehearsals will take place in Westborough starting in late August, the performance will be in Southborough this fall.

The musical comedy set in the 1950s features mobsters, gambling, romance and famous Broadway hits like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat”.

The Curtain Up performances will take place in early November on the Trottier stage.

The auditions require pre-registration for a timeslot (here). They’ll take place at Pilgrim Church from 6:00 – 9:30 pm both evenings.

Participants also need to fill out an audition form, and be prepared to sing “a 32-bar excerpt of a musical theater in the style of the show”.

Plus, “optional dance audition time slots are 7pm – 7:30 pm or 8:30pm – 9pm on both days.”

If you can’t make the auditions in person, good news:

Video Submissions: While we prefer you come to the live auditions, we will also be accepting video submissons. Please email your audition to curtainuptheater@gmail.com no later than Tuesday, June 24th.

There are more important details worth noting, including the character details, in the announcement here.
