If you enjoy watching baseball from the stands, but don’t want to deal with the hassle and price of heading to Fenway or Worcester, the American Legion Baseball league has games scheduled in our area through mid July. That includes a nearby game tonight!

I’m catching up to share the record and schedule for the local team that’s the closest thing Southborough has to a home team — Northborough AL Post 234.

Last year, the team manager told intern Laney Halsey:

On any given roster, you’re gonna see at least a handful, five to eight kids probably, that played Southborough Little League and that grew up in Southborough.

And the community team always features some current/former Algonquin players. (You can read more about the team in last year’s story here and scroll down for the list of current players.)

The season opened a couple of weeks ago, and the team has already played through about 40% of the scheduled pre-playoff games. As of Monday night, the team’s record was 4-4 (scroll down for those details).
