The Southborough Senior Center opens registration this Wednesday morning for upcoming programs. Here’s what they have in store for July and August.
Given that most programs tend to fill up, you’ll want to take an advance look at what you want to sign up for. (Scroll to the bottom for more info on registration.)*
The summer programming is always lighter than the rest of the year. But a note in the newsletter highlights that it may be a bit lighter than usual. But it also previews that more events may pop-up:
As of this writing, we hope to do more programming outside. A
possible Bocce League, thanks to Carol Yozzo. The court needs to be refurbished which is in the plans for this summer. . . We continue to ask for your patience as the interview process is moving along to get us up to full staff. Check out the kitchen area for some impromptu fun add-ons (Root Beer Floats, Hot Dog Day, and may be a few more).
Below are my highlights. (More details, like what’s for lunch, are in the newsletter.)

There is still no schedule for Bocce play as the court is in process of being refurbished. But, on that topic, the newsletter encourages:
If you have not already let us know of your interest, please call the front desk and put your name on the list. Carol Yozzo will get in touch with you when the time comes to Get Out and Play.
(The Book Club and Genealogy Club are taking a summer break. Look for those to return in the fall.)
There are also other important tips and news for seniors in the full newsletter here.
*Registration
See pages 1&2 of the newsletter for registration & cancellation details, but here are some of the highlights.
In-person registrations are using a form and must include payment.
Phone registration (508-229-4453) can’t be done over voicemail — you must connect with someone live. Payment for programs needs to be made within one week after signing up to avoid being removed from the list.
Because the programs tend to have waitlists, residents are asked to cancel if their plans change. For full refunds, bus trips must be cancelled two weeks in advance and other events one week in advance.
Updated (6/27/25 12:21 pm): I initially forgot to note program exceptions for dates the center is closed — July 4th, 10th, & 11th.
