You may have heard about a massive fire in downtown Milford yesterday evening. The Southborough Fire Department was among the responders supporting Milford’s efforts.
SFD’s posted to Facebook that firefighters were assisting efforts to extinguish the blaze and Engine 22 was used to help “provide water to the scene”.
The fire destroyed a three story building that housed a family-owned tavern below two residential floors.
WCVB Channel 5 news reported:
[Milford Fire Chief Mark Nelson] said the fire reached four alarms before crews were able to begin evacuating residents.
“We evacuated at least six residents and two children,” Nelson said. “The fire is under control, but we have extensive overhaul to do.”
One person, a police officer, was injured in the blaze. It is unclear the extent of the officer’s injuries.
