I have a correction to a mistake I made in last Thursday’s post about Algonquin Boys and Girls teams performance at the Cross Country League Championship. Plus, I have the results from their recent Division Championships.
Two days ago, the ARHS Girls team scored 5th place at the Division 1B Championships. That automatically qualifies them to compete at the D1 State Championships this Saturday. The Titans Girls’ top runner was Kyra Brossi in 12th place.
The ARHS Boys team finished 9th place, with Stephen Green in 6th place and Finn McManus in 16th. Those two runners appear to have both qualified to compete as individuals at the State Championships.
The team could also qualify for a Wildcard spot. But that’s a long shot, and the entries for the meet aren’t posted yet. (You can read the qualifying rules here and event results here..)
As for my error last week — It turns out that the teams actually came in 2nd place at the Division A (League) Championships on October 25th, not 1st place. (You can read more about that here.)
