Last week, I posted about Southborough Recreation’s survey about, and plans for, major upgrades to Fayville Park. Since it was a couple of days before Thanksgiving, many readers may have missed the news. So, I’m posting a reminder, highlighting that the survey deadline is this Monday, December 8th.
As I detailed last week, Rec is pursuing a project that includes adding a splash pad and dog park, and eliminate the T-Ball field.
Before bringing a project to voters at Annual Town Meeting, Rec is seeking more public feedback. A survey asks about participants’ usage of the park, improvements they care about and activities they’d like to see there. You can find that here. (If you’re unfamiliar with the park, it’s the Town playground and recreational area on Central Street.)
In my post last week, I detailed Rec’s application for a 2026 Community Preservation Act project (and costs). The current proposal would replace the baseball diamond and field with a 1⁄3 acre dog park, an 8,000 sq ft splash pad, and a picnic area. The perimeter walking path would also be replaced with a new, handicap accessible version. (The existing playground, pavilion, and basketball court would be untouched.)
In the post, I also covered why Rec is now pursuing a dog park in Fayville instead of Lundblad Dog Park (by Neary School). You can read about all of that here.
