Ned Paul Anderson, 81, of Southborough, Massachusetts, passed away on December 3, 2025 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife Maja (nee Elmér), son David, and daughter Katherine Jones (Brian), as well as beloved grandsons Benjamin, Tyler, and William.He was preceded in death by parents Paul and Caroline Anderson and brother Herbert Anderson.
Ned was raised in Euclid, Ohio and then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned his PhD at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He taught at Kent State University for several years before settling in Southborough, where he lived for over 40 years. He had a fulfilling career at Digital Equipment Corporation (later Compaq and Hewlett-Packard), and worked there until he retired. He enjoyed astronomy, chess, music, and spending time outdoors.
