Save the Dates for Trottier’s “High School Musical Jr”

6th-8th graders will be onstage January 23 & 24

The cast of Southborough junior high students will be putting on the junior version of “High School Musical” this month.

The Trottier Middle School production will take place in their auditorium Friday, January 23rd from 7:00 – 8:15 pm and Saturday, January 24th from 2:00 – 3:15 pm.

Tickets are already being sold online (here) for $8 per student or senior, and $10 for general admission. You can also use the portal to purchase a “Star-Gram”:

Send a message and a sweet treat to an actor before the show! Show your ticket at the Star-Gram table to complete your message.

The script is based on the Disney Channel’s 2006 smash hit movie (a phenomena that spewed a series of spinoffs). It’s not the first time Trottier put on a production. But current cast members would have been in grades PreK to 1st grade when it was last performed in 2019.

For those not familiar, below is a script summary:

Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. . .

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
