SPD ask for help with hit & run; announce unrelated rescue of woman from alleged kidnapper

The Southborough Police Department issued two announcements on Facebook over the past few days. One asks the public to help identify a truck involved in a crash on Saturday afternoon. The other is about their rescue of a woman reportedly in danger.

Because the second incident apparently involved a family or household member, the SPD can’t share many details beyond the fact that a man from Hudson has been arrested for alleged Kidnapping. The announcement on Facebook included a purple ribbon, a symbol often used for Domestic Violence Awareness.

Here is that statement, issued yesterday afternoon:

Over the weekend, amid a major winter snowstorm, Southborough Police officers responded to a serious incident involving a woman who needed immediate help.

Despite difficult weather conditions, officers responded swiftly and ensured the victim’s safety. Through an investigation, officers arrested a Hudson man on multiple charges, including Kidnapping.

Incidents involving family or household members are handled with care and discretion. Massachusetts law, specifically the Domestic Violence Act of 2014, limits what information can be shared in these cases.
What I can say is that our officers acted professionally and with compassion during an intense situation.

As Chief, I am proud of the officers involved in this response. The Southborough Police Department is committed to protecting all members of our community, and that’s exactly what officers did on Sunday.

On Saturday evening, the SPD posted the following, unrelated, message and photo to Facebook:

At approximately 1PM on January 24, 2026, Southborough Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of Marlboro Road and Sears Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury.

Upon arrival, officers located one vehicle with heavy front end damage and learned that the other vehicle involved had fled the scene. The operator of the vehicle on scene suffered minor injuries.

The suspect vehicle was described to be a black pick up truck with a snow plow attached to the front of it and have a blue registration plate.

If anyone witnessed the crash; has any sort of camera footage; or can identify the vehicle in the photo- please reach out to the Southborough Police Department Detective Bureau at 508-485-2121 and request Det. Anthony Vega (Ext. 7136) avega@southboroughma.gov or Det. Owen O’Brien (Ext. 3051) oobrien@southboroughma.gov.
