Recently, Southborough Recreation opened up opportunities to play pickleball on their indoor court, starting in a few weeks. Some time slots quickly filled up, but there are more options available.

Rec is promoting an the “non-instructional” play times. At the request of players, the schedule is “expanded” to 90 minutes. (Past sessions were for one hour.)

The new play times will begin the last week of this month/first week of next. Since Rec only has one indoor court, options are limited.

For each class time, registration is capped to 6 players “4 playing at a time, 2 for alternates”. Due to the constraints, Rec is urging, “Please only register for spots you know you will be able to make.”

The upcoming “Session 3” classes are all weekday morning/mid-day classes.

Currently, there is only one available option for Intermediate-Advanced players at level 3.5+:

  • Tuesdays (11:00 am – 12:30 pm) February 24th through March 24th

(There were additional options, but they are already full.)

For players at levels 2-3.25 (beginners/some experience), there are a few options:

  • Tuesdays (9:00 – 10:30 am) February 24th through March 24th
  • Wednesdays (12:45 – 2:15 pm) March 4th through April 1st
  • Thursdays (11:00 am – 12:30 pm) March 2nd through April 2nd

You can check which skill level is right for you here.

The cost for each time block is $35 per person.

The courts are in a room on the top floor of the South Union Building/Recreation Center, 21 Highland St. In the past, Rec noted that though they will have balls on hand, players should bring their own rackets.
