Ann L. (Petrie) Mathes, 81, of Southborough, died Monday, September 7, 2026, at her home in Southborough surrounded by her children.
She was the wife of the late Dale A. Mathes who died in 2024 and daughter of the late Francis J. and Mildred (Sheridan) Petrie. Ann is survived by her sister Jeanne Stone of Bellingham MA, brother David Petrie of NH, sister-in-laws Joan Mathes of TX and Joan Mathes of MA. She is predeceased by brother-in-laws Bill Stone and Richard Mathes and sister-in-laws Claire Petrie and Eleanor Reinhold.
Ann is survived by her children, John Mathes and his wife Kelley of Vernon, CT, Amy Maguire and her husband Robert of Kailua Kona, HI, David Mathes and his wife Wendy of Cary, NC, and Julie Alexander and her husband Kevin of Grafton, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hannah Mathes, Daniel Mathes, Rachel Mathes, Erin Maguire, Ryan Mathes, Kara Mathes, Jake Alexander and Colin Alexander and her great grandson, Jack Mathes.
A memorial Mass will be held for Ann on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough, MA 01772.
A private burial for Ann will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Parish, 105 Southville Rd, Southborough, MA 01772.
