Save the date for the annual town-wide collection drive to support the Southborough Food Pantry.
The weekend of November 7th, Scouts/volunteers will be hanging bags with flyers on doorknobs in neighborhoods all over town.
The community is encouraged to fill those bags with food donations, and place them next to their mailboxes on the morning of Saturday, November 14th before 9:00 am. That’s when volunteers will be making the rounds to scout out and pick up the donations.
As always, please double check the expiration dates before donating items!
The collection drive flyer promotes that items that would make the biggest difference for the pantry “right now” are:
grocery store gift cards
canned salmon
canned meats (chicken, Spam)
solid white tuna
minced clams
corned beef hash
Ritz crackers
Chips Ahoy cookies
Oreos
olives (green, black)
pickles (sweet, dill)
mayonnaise
olive oil
coffee (regular, decaf, instant)
pasta sauce in jars
V8 juice
Capri Sun
shampoo & conditioner
toothpaste (adult)
paper towels
napkins
toilet paper
plastic bags (sandwich, quart, gallon)
plastic wrap, aluminum foil
all-purpose cleaner
liquid hand soap
laundry & dish detergent
13-gallon trash bags
For food and condiments, please remember to check the expiration dates before you donate. (Also, note that while it’s fine to donate multi-packs, please don’t donate jumbo/commercial-sized items, like giant jars.)
If a bag doesn’t get hung on your door, you can still participate by dropping off items at Pilgrim Church that morning between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
If you’d prefer to donate funds directly to the food pantry, click here (or text sff2026 to 508-290-6004).
