Cub Scouts wreath and candle sales

Young scouts are going door-to-door over the next couple of weeks for their big annual fundraiser

This Saturday evening won’t be the only time you might find a child in uniform ringing your doorbell this fall. Outside of trick-or-treating hours, you may open your door to find a Cub Scout.

It may seem too soon to think about it, but the holidays will be on us before you know it. And Pack 1 has launched their annual holiday fundraiser. The scouts have been hitting the streets for door-to-door sales of Christmas wreaths and Hanukkah candles.

The Cub Scout Annual Holiday Door-to-Door Sale runs through Sunday November 15th. Southborough Cub Scouts are pounding the pavement to sell evergreen wreaths and Hanukkah candles. (They’ll also be putting out Scouting for Food flyers for the town-wide drive on November 14th!)

The price is $10 per wreath or $15 per box of 45 candles. Deliveries will be made by November 25th.

The holiday sale is the only pack-wide event to fund Cub Scout programming throughout the year.

There will be additional sales opportunities at the Transfer Station starting on Saturday, November 21st from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. But buying direct from a Cub Scout at your door can really make their day (and help scouts win a contest!) So, keep an ear out for that knocking.

(For those of you who aren’t interested in a wreath or candles, you can always support the scouts by making a donation to their troop instead.)
