The Southborough Senior Center is collecting care package donations for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 400 care packages containing personal grooming items (for men and women), Halloween candy, socks, magazines, and other items will be shipped to troops later this month. Word has gotten around that Falconi Bros. on Boston Rd. has the cheapest gas in town. When I drove by this evening, cars were lined up 5 deep. Here’s a nice story about a Southborough-based nonprofit that provides birthday gifts to area children. The Smiling Kids organization, founded in 2003 by Southborough residents Karen and Bob Sommers, has distributed 3,000 gifts this year to children who otherwise might go without on their birthday.
