Beals Preserve is privately owned and supported by SOLF for public good

Southborough Open Land Foundation asked me to help them dispel a common (and apparently increasing) misconception about their 58.5 acre property known as Beals Preserve. Many mistakenly believe it is Town owned Open Space.

Plea Deal reached for “Large Scale Burglary Ring” that included Southborough home

3 men who pled guilty were sentenced to about a decade in prison for a string of burglaries that targeted families of Indian and South Asian ethnicity.

Two winters ago, a Southborough family’s home was robbed while the homeowners were traveling abroad. This week, the Middlesex District Attorney announced a plea bargain reached with three men who were sentenced for a string of connected burglaries. Update on School Building plans

This week, the PreK-8 School Building Committee discussed its work pulling together information on potential school building projects. Meanwhile, the Southborough School Committee has been discussing asking Town Meeting voters this fall to spend about $4M to replace Neary School’s roof. BOH bans convenience store sales of nicotine pouches

After learning about flavored products that appear to flout state laws, the Town board restricted sales to non-existent adult tobacco stores.

Yesterday, the Board of Health voted to update its tobacco regulations. The decision was prompted by recently learning that at least one convenience store in town was purportedly selling “pouch” tobacco/nicotine in flavors that would appeal to kids. CA: Charges filed after Southborough PD finds baggie with cocaine after two-car crash

This is one of the stories I missed while I was out of town last week. The Community Advocate covered the Southborough Police Department’s news.

According to the CA, “the Southborough Police Department arrested and charged a Marlborough man for Operating Under the Influence and drug possession after a crash” at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, August 5th.
