If you want Community Preservation Act funding for a project to be approved at Annual Town Meeting, apply by 9/15. And if you're thinking about seeking funding within the next five years, now is the time to help the CPC plan ahead.

Annual forum on Community Preservation Act — June 18th

Each year voters at Annual Town Meeting decide whether or not to support projects using money collected through the Community Preservation Act (CPA) surcharge. If you’re thinking about bringing a proposal forward or want to ask questions/provide feedback before the next funding cycle opens, mark your calendars.

ATM CPA Articles: $121K for Town Common fence; Transferring affordable housing funds

One article is another investment in preservation in the downtown Historic District. The other is intended to make it easier for Town officials to use the already set-aside funds for housing projects

On Monday night, Town Meeting will be asked to approve up to $121,000 to restore a historic “fence”. Select Board members publicly worried about the reaction of voters upset about rising property taxes. But, they stressed that the money for the proposed CPA project doesn’t directly impact tax bills.

CPA Projects & Voting Threshold headed to Town Meeting (Updated)

Funding is sought to preserve historic records, improve Peninsula Trail accessibility, and make irrigation more efficient. And a resident is seeking to make a change related to the CPA.

Project proponents are seeking to restore and preserve historic Town records, complete the Peninsula Trail project (with better ADA accessibility), and improve the efficiency of watering the Town’s golf course.
