Southborough Food Pantry in need of donations

In general, supplies at the Southborough Food Pantry are holding steady, but they do have an immediate need for some pantry staples. So while you’re out running errands this weekend, why not pick up a few of these items to donate to the pantry:

  • Cereal (this is what they’re most in need of)
  • Cookies
  • Crackers
  • Individual-sized snacks (for kids to bring to school)
  • Potato mixes
  • Laundry detergent
  • Individual-sized juice boxes
  • Coffee (just plain old coffee, not anything fancy)

Donations may be left in the foyer at the side door of Pilgrim Church, or in the main parish hall. You can also drop off items during pantry hours: Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, and Fridays from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Other churches in town also have drop-off areas, as do (I believe) the schools.

The food pantry, run by the United Parishes of Southborough, serves more than 100 members of our community. Their clients range in age from infants to the elderly.

There are bins in the lobbies of each of the schools. However, donations made there are typically delivered only once a month (the Monday after school spirit day).
