Southborough’s first snow day of the year: What’s closed today (UPDATED)

It’s finally here: Southborough’s first official snow day of the season … if you don’t count the ones we had in October, that is. I haven’t been outside to measure, but it looks like about five or six inches of snow fell in our area since yesterday, and a bit more is expected to accumulate today.

The snow started falling early in the afternoon on Wednesday and by the time the evening commute rolled around, some secondary roads had gotten slick. Southborough emergency crews reported accidents on Southville Road, Parkerville Road near Skylar, and Chestnut Hill Road, among others.

Early this morning, Superintendent Charles Gobron made the decision in consultation with public safety officials to cancel school in Southborough and Northborough due to dangerous driving conditions. The Southborough Public Library will also be closed today.

I’ll keep a running list of closing and cancellations I hear about, so check back here for updates. If you know of any, feel free to add them to the comments.
