MWDN: Planning Board won’t ban marajauana dispenseries, just contain them

by beth on June 21, 2013

The Metrowest Daily News reports that the Planning Board decided not to impose a moratorium on marijuana dispenseries in Southborough. Last night, Planning Board members chose instead to include wording in the new bylaws restricting the dispenseries to adult business zones.

The language is being added to the zoning bylaw proposal that is due to be voted on at a special Town Meeting in October.

MWDN reports:

Morris said Selectman Bill Boland said his board might be leading toward favoring a moratorium, but agreed that placing the use inside the adult zone is probably what would ultimately happen.

The town’s adult zone is mostly located in a small industrial zone area near the EMC property along Rte. 9 close to Westborough, Planning Administrative Assistant Hillary Brigandi said.
