School safety forum for the public on 9/23

by beth on September 13, 2013

If you have children attending our public schools, you may be concerned about what safety measures the administration has in place.

Last year, the superintendent’s office began an initiative to update safety measures for the district. Some changes that were recently reported include the ability for staff and older students to take a more proactive role in protecting themselves when appropriate. (Click here to read last month’s story.)

The roll-out of the plan began last spring with staff. It continued this new school year with staff training and student education. Student education will continue throughout the year.

On Monday, September 23, parents and the public will have the opportunity to learn more.

The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough are pleased to host a community forum to share updates on safe school readiness. The forum will be held Monday, September 23, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Algonquin Regional High School Auditorium. The public is invited.

The forum is hosted by school administration in collaboration with police departments in Northborough and Southborough.

A special presentation will be given by Lieutenant Scott Sencabaugh from the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC).
