Friends of the Southborough Recreation Department is reaching out to local businesses. The group is seeking sponsors for Southborough Summer Nights.

For the 11th year, Southborough will hold the community celebration with entertainment, fireworks, and family fun. The festival will cap off the summer on Saturday, August 23rd with a rain date of the 24th.

Organizers promise attractions for every age, including a rock climbing wall and the “wrecking ball”.

Each year, they try to make the event better than last. This year, they are improving long lines for the most popular attractions, while also generating more foot traffic to the booth areas:

more ponies and face painters have been added as well as bringing attractions to the lawn area where the booths reside.

Event Supporters that FOSR asked to thank:

  • Fireworks display (by Atlas Pyro Vision Productions) – co-sponsored by Bill Depietri of Capital Group Properties and Brendon Giblin of Brendon Properties
  • Live music (by Better Her Than Me) – sponsored by St. Mary’s Credit Union
  • Additional sponsors – Eagle Leasing, Little V Designs, Fay School, Ken’s Foods, Long Automotive Group, Marlborough Savings Bank, Middlesex Savings Bank, New England Center for Children, Phanuef Concrete Cutting & Breaking, Senator Eldridge, Skyrise Children’s Theater, Southborough House of Pizza, State Representative Carolyn Dykema, The Boston Spine Group, Thrive Coaching and Consulting Group, and Tomasso Trattoria.
  • Food vendors already committed –  Dominos of Southborough, Quizno’s, Dean’s Concessions, and Trombetta’s Creamery have also already committed to this year.
  • Town departments and volunteers who help out – Police, Fire, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), MRC (Medical Reserve Corp) and Public Works Departments

If you are interested in sponsorship opportunies, please contact the Southborough Recreation Department.

Of course, the event also relies heavily on volunteers from the community. So if you can’t pledge dollars, consider signing up to lend a hand for a shift.

If you want to keep up with news and announcements on the event, you can join the group on Facebook under Southborough Summer Nights.

Hopefully they’ll have the fireworks somewhere where we can actually see them this year!
