We’re a new family to Neary School this year. So, I’m not familiar with some of the traditions. One in particular took me by surprise today.
In speaking to friends, I realized that I wasn’t alone in making incorrect assumptions about tonight’s Curriculum Night at Neary.
This isn’t a family friendly open house (like we’ve experienced in earlier grades in past years.) It’s a parents only event. And there’s a set schedule.
Principal Kathleen Valenti sent out an email this morning. In case you have a new student at the school and didn’t notice her message yet, I’m sharing it here:
We are very much looking forward to our annual Neary Curriculum Night tonight! The schedule is as follows:
Grade 4 will present in their classrooms from 6:00-6:45 at which point parents can visit with Special Subject Teachers and me in our dining room.
Grade 5 will present from 7:00-7:45 in their designated rooms. Parents are encouraged to visit our dining room from 6:00-7:00 where our Special Subject teachers and I will be located.
Curriculum Night is from 6:00-8:00 and is for parents only.
