It is crap that the Transfer Station is closed today. It is not a holiday! Now we can’t get rid of our trash until next Wednesday. That is ridiculous!

I don’t really understand why the transfer station is closed both Friday and Saturday before Christmas?? The schools were open Friday, as was the bank, the post office, and most public services… As residents we pay a lot for these services, which are already provided on a limited schedule.

Friday (two days before Christmas) I drove to the transfer station to unload, knowing it would be closed Saturday until Wednesday, and like at least 20 other cars in a 5 minute period, I was surprised to see it closed.

I guess I should have checked, but since so many other services were operating, and Friday was not a holiday, or even the day before a holiday, I just assumed they would be open. Maybe someone from town can explain why it was closed.

Thanks!

Can anyone provide me with a valid reason why the transfer station is closed on both Friday, December 23rd and Saturday the 24th? I have trash that I need to dispose of.

You folks pull this stunt too often at holidays throughout the year. What’s your problem? Are you simply too tired of working??

If you’ve dropped off trash over the past few weeks I’m surprised you didn’t notice holiday hours signage. I brought mine on Thursday as I knew that would be my last chance until next Wednesday. At this time of year, and with the year it’s been, it would be nice to try to curb the venom a little.

I didn’t notice the holiday hour postings at the transfer station. But I do now understand why they had 2 days off before Christmas, they didn’t get a holiday day for New Years. So it all makes sense to me now.

I agree, the transfer station should not have been closed on Friday. I checked the town website earlier in the week for transfer station holiday hours and found none. On Friday, before heading over there, I checked here just to see if there was anything post about. I’m sure glad I did. My work schedule is similar to the transfer station’s and it’s difficult for me to get there. I often go on my way to work. I would of had trash in the car all day and then would of had to bring it back into the house. Thanks Beth for all holiday postings. You’re the best! But I do wonder why it’s closed on Friday. This is a trashy week and with company coming, it would be nice to get rid of what’s here.

It says that the Transfer station is closed Saturday, Jan 1st, but Saturday is Dec 31st. Does anyone know if the Transfer station is open or closed on this coming Saturday?

Everyone needs to relax about it being closed. Stop sounding so entitled .

Also it’s not the workers fault they were closed . I’m sure that’s up to the bosses. So for for some people on here to discredit the workers for being to tired to work is utterly rediculous. I’m sure the people that made those comments haven’t put in a day’s work in their life.

Your right, I just just sit around eating Bon-bons all day. The only thing I look forward to is going to the transfer station.

Friday was not a holiday and neither was Saturday – it should have been open.
