ARHS music history: Four Gold Medal groups to perform at Mechanics Hall – Sunday

Northborough Southborough Music Association is promoting a special concert this Sunday. It comes with a bit of well earned bragging.

Four of Algonquin’s music groups were invited to perform at this weekend’s Gold Medal Showcase at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. It’s a first for the school.

The invitation stems from ARHS music groups performances at MICCA in March. (That’s the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association Festival.)

NSMA is also happy to share that Trottier and Melican middle school groups “performed beautifully” at the festival. But the big news was for the Gold performing high school groups:

  • String Orchestra
  • Concert Band
  • Symphonic Band

The ARHS groups will all play during a one-hour time slot from 4:00 -5:00 pm, this Sunday, April 8th. NSMA shares:

Admission is free and the memories will be priceless!

Here are some pics shared from the student’s performances over the March 23rd weekend:

Updated (4/2/18 8:05 am): I took a look at who else was invited to the showcase. The showcase features 20 schools, only 6 of which have multiple groups. Algonquin is the only one with as many as four groups.
