Southborough Recreation is promoting a new Ceramics Class for adults that’s starting this month.

On Facebook, Rec posted:

Adults, come learn the basics of wheel thrown pottery! In five fun, relaxing sessions, you will learn the basics of wedging, centering, throwing, trimming and glazing. You will make a bowl and a mug, plus other creations of your own choosing suitable for keeping and using or giving as gifts!

When: Sunday 4:00-5:00 pm (10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24)
Location: Southborough Recreation- 21 Highland Street
Price:$80.00

The class is for adults 18 years and up. Registration is open through October 22nd. Click here to sign up.

While I’m sharing that, it’s worth noting several co-ed adult sports programs they’re offering this fall and winter. One is already in progress and others start next month.

Registration is still open for newcomers to join the adult Basketball program for ages 17 and up that’s running to mid-November:

Inspired to play some basketball? Join us on Sundays from 6 -7:45 pm at the Fay School, and Wednesdays 7 – 9:15 pm at the Finn School. Newcomers are always welcome. Attendance need not be regular. We call our own fouls and shoot foul shots. We keep score in order to know when to stop for water. No basketball held if the schools are closed, or if the gyms are needed for school or town activities (such as voting).

New sessions will start later this fall. Keep an eye out for Rec to start opening registration for the next session in another week or two.

If multiple nights per week is too much, you might want to join one of Rec’s weekly Adult Ice Hockey programs. Those will play Sunday evenings beginning in late November on St. Mark’s ice rink.

Come play hockey! This is a non-competitive, no check, no slap shot game for all hockey enthusiasts. All skill levels are invited to play. Helmets are required. Register before your spot is taken, first come, first serve!

Ages 35+ can play at 7:00 pm and ages 21+ at 8:00 pm. Dates are listed from November 24th to February 23rd. But the site notes that they are tentative. Participants will be emailed an updated schedule.

Co-Ed Volleyball skews a bit younger, including 14 years and up. The first session filled up in September. Registration is currently open for the next session that begins Thursday evenings on November 7th, running through December 12th. That’s followed by three more sessions, this winter and spring.

The next two 5-week sessions each cost $20. The final session is longer and will cost $60.

Rec also lists co-ed basketball, but the upcoming sessions show registration is expired
