Community Chorus holiday concerts

Many Southborough residents are active members of other regional choruses. Three of those groups asked me to share news on their concerts this weekend and/or next: Northboro Area Community Chorus, Westborough Community Chorus, and Assabet Valley Mastersingers.

I’ve already shared that the annual Handel’s Messiah Concert in town is taking place this Sunday. Here are the details on that and the others:

The chorus will perform the Christmas portion of Handel’s oratorio in addition to the “Hallelujah Chorus” with audience participation.

Generally all participants greatly enjoy this beloved tradition of the Christmas season. Accomplished organist Brett Maguire will provide accompaniment, and vocal soloists will be soprano Emily Bieber; mezzo Britt Brown; tenor Christopher Eaglin; and baritone Dave Bonneau. Robert P. Eaton, Artistic Director of the Assabet Valley Mastersingers will direct the ensemble.

Some scores are available to share, although participants are urged to bring their own, if possible. Those people who would prefer to listen are also welcome.

A suggested donation of $10 is desired. Guests will be invited to share refreshments following the “sing.” For further information call (978) 562-9838 or search www.AVMsingers.org.
