The Southborough Library is bribing residents to support the Southborough Food Pantry. It is part of its annual Love Your Library campaign for Valentine’s month.

As they have for the past few years, the Library is waiving overdue fines for patrons who bring in donations to the pantry in February:

Southborough patrons may bring non-perishable items to pay off fines. The items will be donated to the Southborough Food Pantry. Fees for lost, damaged or Interlibrary loan materials cannot be waived. Bring food items to the main desk during library hours. If you’ve lost the item, all you will be responsible for is the replacement cost, no late fees! We want you back at the library. (and our stuff too)!

Items needed; beef stew, soup, dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, crackers, cookies and freezer bags.

This year, there’s an incentive to demonstrate bigger love for the community. Patrons who donate 10+ items to the pantry can also receive either a heart squeezie (heart shaped stress ball) or a mouse pad declaring “I Love My Southborough Library”.*
