  • Presidential Primary Early Voting (8:00 am – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough Town House, 17 Common Street: Early voting in the primaries is open this week. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Presidential Primary Early Voting (8:00 am – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough Town House, 17 Common Street: Early voting in the primaries is open this week. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Trottier’s DC Trip Orientation (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School auditorium: The “parents only” orientation is for parents/guardians of current Trottier 7th graders. The administration will provide information on next year’s 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Level: At the semi-monthly sessions, Everyone is asked to bring in five copies of their original poetry for supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come and share your insights. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month.

Wednesday, February 26, 2020 

  • Presidential Primary Early Voting (8:00 am – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough Town House, 17 Common Street: Early voting in the primaries is open this week. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Meet/Greet Fire Chief Achilles (10:30 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: This program is only for Southborough Residents. A free, light brunch will be served prior to the program. Fire Chief, Steven Achilles and members of his staff will talk about their goals for our town, answer questions and hear concerns. Come with notes! Please sign up at the front desk or call 508-229-4453.
  • Introduction To Idea Lab (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Join library associate Val De Angelis for an “open house” of our newest features in the Teen Room downstairs! Demonstrations and activities include: Art Creation Station, 3-D Printing, Laser Cutting, Video Producing, Button Making and more! No registration required. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Outdoor Illumination public engagement (6:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Road: Public engagement and ATM and Warrant Article on 174-12.1 Outdoor Illumination Be Informed! Come learn about the proposed changes to the zoning bylaw regulating lighting. Studies have shown light pollution produces harmful effects for both humans and wildlife.   • Tales & Tails (6:15 – 7:15 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level, : Children can read with a certified therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International. Contact the library to sign up for a 15 minutes time slot. Children should have some reading ability. Children can bring books or pick some from the library. (This event runs monthly on Wednesday and Thursday, usually the 4th week of the month.)
  • Rugby Parent Info Night (6:30 pm) @ Southborough Rec Building, 21 Highland St, top floor: The info night is to answer parent questions about the co-ed program. The Northborough Southborough Rugby program is open to 6th-10th graders at all levels of experience and will be coached by USA rugby qualified coaches. For details, see dedicated post.

  • APTO restaurant fundraiser (4:00 – 9:00 pm) @ MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, 10010A Shops Way, Northborough: Algonquin PTO’s monthly fundraiser. Order at the counter and make sure to mention the Algonquin PTO so that the organization will receive a portion of the proceeds.
  • Tales & Tails (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level, : Children can read with a certified therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International. Contact the library to sign up for a 15 minutes time slot. Children should have some reading ability. Children can bring books or pick some from the library. 
  • SCAC 2020 Grant Award Ceremony (7:00 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor, 25 Main St: Please join us for the Southborough Cultural Arts Center (SCAC) 2020 Grant Art Award Ceremony at the Southborough Library on the Main Floor. Artist Sigrid Knewmeyer will share insights on her art and the fascinating field of of Medical Illustration. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Silent Book Group (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Strangers or friends meet every month at the library to share one another’s company.   • ARHS Winter Play: The Laramie Project (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, Black Box Theater, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: The Dramahawks production of the play about the 1998 brutal hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming. Warning: The show has “language” and discusses violence. This performance is free for students and $10 for adult tickets at the door. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Read to Furry Animals (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids in grades K-3 can sign up to read to dogs at the library. For details, see dedicated post.
  • ARHS Winter Play: The Laramie Project (2:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, Black Box Theater, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: The Dramahawks production of the play about the 1998 brutal hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming. Warning: The show has “language” and discusses violence. This performance is part of the Mass HS Drama Guild Festival and will also include entries from Gloucester HS and St. Sebastian.   • Button Making Saturdays (2:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Ages 13 & Up – Join us in the new Teen Room Idea Lab for an hour of button making fun. Bring in clip art from an old magazine or design your own image at the “Creation Station” and turn it into wearable art! For details, see dedicated post.

  • Boy Scout’s Pancake Breakfast (8:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Neary School cafeteria: Troop 1 Boy Scouts 50th annual fundraiser. The menu also includes sausage, ham, and beverages. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and kids 6-12, and children 5 and under eat for free. You can get your tickets from a Troop 1 Boy Scout or buy them at the door.   • Southborough Sounds: Delightful Duets (3:30 pm) @ St. Mark’s School, Putnam Family Arts Center, Class of ’45 Hall: The fourth concert of the St. Mark’s public concert series. Delightful Duets: Piano Music for Four Hands. Pianists Ellina Blinder and Irina Kotlyar Vulikh will perform pieces including ones by Mozart, Debussy, Ravel and De Falla Pre-concert talk – 2:45-3:15 pm. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
