SCAC: Cultural arts grant applications due by Dec 14 (Updated for extended deadline)

Southborough Cultural Arts Council is looking to fund more proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs.

SCAC funds organizations, schools, and individuals that support cultural activities in the community. This year, they are promoting that grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Southborough– including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures.

Last year, 15 grants were awarded by SCAC, totaling over $5,000. (Click here to see the list.)

The window to apply for the next cycle of grant proposals closes on December 14th. This year, the application process is being handled through the Mass Cultural Council’s online system:

The Southborough Cultural Arts Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community. . .
