Eagles Rugby earned silver medals at Bay State Games

Southborough’s youth rugby, the Eagles, had some good news to share. The teams competed in the Bay State Games on Saturday. Both the flag and tackle teams received silver medals. Also winning silver was the regional elementary program that Eagles has been partnering with, the New England Rugby Club.

Organizers shared their pride and some photos (below) from the day:

We are so proud of our players.  Due to some players being on vacation the team was a little short on subs so all the kids were playing a full game for all four of their games. It was a tough ask from the coaches but they all stepped up and played with smiles and enthusiasm. Great that Southborough has had so much success in a sport that is new to the town being High school State Champions and Middle School runners up in the State.
