Carol H. Murphy, 90, of Southborough Massachusetts passed away on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 with her family at her side. Born in Newton, Highlands on September 15, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Edna and Harold Hockridge and the adoring sister of the late Russell Hockridge. She was the devoted wife of 66 years to Philip F. Murphy.

We will remember Carol’s beautiful blue eyes and warm spirit she offered to all. To her husband Phil, she was a loving, tender and devoted wife. Phil was always the light of her life and dedicated soulmate. To her children, she was the heartbeat of the home, cheerleader, protector, fierce defender and always put them before herself. To her husband and children, she was the one you could always count on above everyone else. Carol felt pride and joy seeing her five grandchildren blossom and grow. Carol’s legacy is the loving positive imprint she has left in her family’s heart to live by and her selfless beautiful spirit.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband Philip F. Murphy and five children, Richard Odell and his wife Eileen of Northbridge, Lori Odell and her husband Art Simas of Shrewsbury, Cammy Severinghaus and her husband Charles of Chestnut Hill, Holly Bergantino and her husband James of Hopkinton, and Beth Berman and her husband Craig of Safety Harbor, Florida. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren, Kristen Saporito, Richard Odell, Tyler Bergantino, Maxwell Berman, and Carly Severinghaus.

The family will honor her life with a private ceremony to say their final goodbyes on September 15, 2021. Carol will be laid to rest in Southborough at the Rural Cemetery.
