Southborough Recreation has confirmed that Heritage Day is a go.

As is tradition, Southborough’s celebration falls on Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This year, that’s Monday, October 11th. The festival runs from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on the St. Mark’s field Rain or Shine.

This year, there won’t be an annual parade. However, we can look forward to all the booths on the field.

For those of you unfamiliar, Heritage Day is the the annual town celebration of our community. While it honors the town’s history, it is rooted in the present, bringing together different segments of the community.

Typically, non-profit community groups use the event to hold fundraisers and local business offer giveaways to promote themselves. There are also a variety of local businesses/crafters/artisans selling their wares. Plus, lots of food trucks/booths.

If you are looking to exhibit, be sure to register with Southborough Recreation here.

Another annual event you can count on that day is The Friends of the Southborough Library’s Book Sale in the Library’s parking lot across the street. (It’s a much bigger version than the mini-sale held at the Food Truck Festival last night.)

The night prior, Southborough Rotary will be holding the Pumpkin Stroll. Residents will again be invited to line the stone wall next to the Old Burial Ground with jack-o’-lanterns for the public to enjoy. (The group will be collecting contributions for the Southborough Food Pantry.)

Stay tuned for more details on Heritage Day weekend.

Updated (9/17/21 7:47 am): Rotary confirmed the Pumpkin Stroll will be held on Sunday, October 10th. (A comment about the date made me realize that I had written September!)
