Southborough residents have long complained about the lack of Commuter Rail trains running the Worcester-Boston route. Now the state is doing something about it.
Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray and other political leaders recently announced the purchase of CSX Corp’s Worcester to Boston train line which will allow them to improve Commuter Rail service. Five new trains on the Worcester to Boston line will be added as soon as October 27. The deal cost $100 million and will be completed in phases over the next five years.
