Bargains are in the box

I’ve always wondered about the Bargain Box located next to St. Mark’s Church on Main St. Sometimes the sign is there, sometimes it’s not – I’ve never been able to discern a pattern. Is it affiliated with St. Mark’s? Or maybe Fay School? Is it open to the public? A little bit of Internet sleuthing and I found the answers.

In operation for an astounding 60 years, the Bargain Box sells donated and consigned clothing for women, men, and children. Proceeds benefit St. Mark’s parish. The shop operates twice a year – during April and May for spring/summer clothing and October and November for fall/winter clothing. Upcoming hours are:

  • Thursdays (10/02-11/20): 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Sundays (10/05-11/23): 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

If you want to donate or consign good-condition fall or winter clothing, you can drop them off at the Bargain Box on Thursday, October 9th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

For additional information on donations and store hours (including sale dates), see the flyer on St. Mark’s website.
