Woodward basketball court gets a new coat of paint

Tom Finelli, president of Southborough Youth Basketball Association, and four Algonquin hoops players hit the court at Woodward yesterday, but instead of basketballs they wielded paint brushes.

Finelli, along with Algonquin students Dan Butka, Reggie Padgett, Grant Wageman, and Patrick Murphy — who were all SYBA players in their day — repainted the outdoor court at Choate Field as a volunteer project. Painting supplies were paid for by the Southborough Recreation department.

“This court is heavily used during the spring and summer months and really needed to be done over,” Recreation Director Doreen Ferguson wrote in an email. “The Choate Recreation area is a great asset to our community and I love to see the kids playing basketball and the field lit up with a softball game.”

Swish~~~~~@ It looks great. No too long along there was graffiti painted on the court. This court is used daily. I saw this group working out there on the hot days this week. I would like to thank them for adding to the eye candy of Southborough. Great work Gentlemen!
