Fires in Northborough and Ashland last night keep Southborough crews busy

Last night was a busy one for the Southborough Fire Department. First they were called in via mutual aid to assist with a fire at a liquor store on West Main Street in Northborough. The fire, which was believed to have started in a back room, was knocked down quickly but not before it caused substantial damage.

Southborough crews weren’t in Northborough long. The Worcester Telegram said in a tweet that Southborough had to leave “right away” because they were called to a 2-alarm fire in Ashland. That fire was in a 2-story home on Union Street. Fire was showing when Ashland crews first arrived on the scene. Hopkinton, Holliston, Sherborn, and Framingham also responded.
