Local moms raise money in memory of 2-year-old lost to cancer

Local moms, including some from Southborough, are banding together to help raise funds in memory of Kai Rezendes, a 2-year-old Grafton boy who lost his battle with cancer last week. On Saturday they’ll participate in Kai’s Village Holiday Market in Grafton.

Kai was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in June 2011 when he was just eight months old. Kai’s mom Kerri has blogged about their journey at kaisfightclub.org.

The holiday market on Saturday will feature many vendors – including Southborough’s Anna Banana’s Homemade Goodness, photographer Catherine Weber, and artist Pamela Esty – along with musical performances, a raffle, bake sale, and more. Proceeds benefit Kai’s family and Why Me and Sherry’s House.

The event takes place at the Millbury Street Elementary School, 105 Millbury, Street, Grafton (map) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. You can find more information on the Kai’s Village website or on Facebook.
