Recently, a new mom in town asked me about mothers’ groups. It made me realize, it’s been too long since Southborough Kindergroup got the attention it deserves on this blog.

The co-operative playgroup has been a starting point for friendships between moms, kids, and families since 1977.

It’s the best way I know of to connect with other mothers in town. (Although, it is also open to fathers, caregivers, and residents of nearby towns.)

I loved my experience. And I still enjoy the friendships and many acquantances I made through the group.

Members join the day that works best for their schedule. (They are currently accepting new members for Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays.) They meet from 9:30 – 11:30 am most weeks of the school year, usually at Pilgrim church.

There are also occasional optional field trips for the kids and fun Night Outs for the adults.

The new “season” begins shortly, and they are holding their annual Kickoff night this week. It takes place 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 11. It’s a chance for new and potential members to meet returning members and learn about the group. That will be held in the Community House at 28 Main Street.

You can learn more about Kindergroup on their website, www.kindergroup.com. If you’re interested in joining, contact membership coordinator Leslie Leedberg at membership@kindergroup.com.
