The first weekend in December is always one of the busiest of the year in Southborough and chock full of holiday cheer. Here is a reminder of what’s happening around town.

Girl Scout Holiday Sing-a-long

Girl Scout sing-a-long thumb(6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Community House Lawn: Event for all families in Southborough with Girl Scouts. Kick off your holiday season with an old-fashioned holiday sing-along with some modern touches, capped off with treats. For details, see dedicated post.

Holiday Art and Gift Sale – preview

(7:00 – 9:00 pm) @ 10 Chestnut Hill Road (The Stables) & 49 Lynbrook Road (L’Abri Fellowship): Local artisans and craftspeople will be selling handmade holiday gifts. Each location also has a raffle for a cause. For details, see dedicated post.

Annual Kids Shop 

(9:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Woodward School, cafeteria: Boy Scout Troop 92 provides a safe haven for kids to do their own holiday shopping for family members without parents’ prying eyes. The “shop” is supervised by cub scouts and adult volunteers. Scouts will wrap the purchased presents for free. For details, see dedicated post

(10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ 10 Chestnut Hill Road (The Stables) & 49 Lynbrook Road (L’Abri Fellowship): Local artisans and craftspeople will be selling handmade holiday gifts. Each location also has a raffle for a cause. For details, see dedicated post.

Chrismas Bazaar

(10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main St: The church’s annual fundraiser – Admission is always free. Features baked goods, gifts for the holidays, a silent auction, gift basket raffles, and a White Elephant sale. Proceeds benefit the parish’s Youth Group Mission Trip and the Food Pantry Fuel Assistance Program. For details, see dedicated post.

Library Christmas Tree Decorating Party

(10:30 am – 1:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Be a part of the Library’s annual party. You can make ornaments, decorate the Library’s new Christmas tree, and enjoy refreshments! Sponsored by Friends of the Southborough Library. For details, see dedicated post.

Santa Day

santa day pic(12:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Community House: With “calm winds” in the forecast, expect Santa to fly into Southborough on helicopter. At noon, he’ll land on the field at the corner of Rte 85 and Rte 30. Afterwards, he’ll cross over to the Southborough Community House for Southborough Kindergroup’s annual event.

Inside the house, kids can sit on the big man’s lap, share their wishes, and pose for pics (like the great one right). While in line inside, kids will be entertained by a sing-a-long and other distractions. For details, see dedicated post.
