Town hours: Memorial Day weekend hours and BOS office hours

The Southborough Town House will close early on Friday. (Really, it always closes early on Friday – so this is just one hour earlier than usual.)

The announcement from the Town states that the offices will close at 11:00 am tomorrow, May 24th and not re-open until Tuesday, May 28th.

The public is encouraged to use the green box outside the building to drop off any mail/payments. (Obviously, no stamp is required for that drop-off.)

While all Town buildings will be closed on Memorial Day, there are no other impacts to the schedule over the weekend. (In other words, the Library, Senior Center and Transfer Station will operate on their regular Friday and Saturday schedules.)

The Town has also posted special new hours for the Board of Selectmen in a couple of weeks:

Selectmen’s Office Hours
Event Date: Thursday, June 6, 2019 – 8:00am to 10:00am

The Board of Selectmen will offer office hours on this day in the McAuliffe Hearing Room from 8-10 a.m. No appointment necessary!

You can expect this to be attended by one-two board members – no quorum. That means it’s not a public meeting with minutes. So, you can come talk to a selectman privately about whatever issue concerns you.

Updated (5/23/19 1:57 pm): Additional BOS hours are set for June 11th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Hearing Room. At Tuesday’s meeting, then-Chair Lisa Braccio said she was looking for two selectmen so that agendas wouldn’t need to be posted. (I originally assumed it would be one selectman.)
