Snow Day: February 2, 2021 (Updated)

This evening, the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough announced that school will be canceled for tomorrow, February 2nd.

That’s not a change to remote only learning for hybrid students. As Superintendent Gregory Martineau said in his message, it’s a traditional snow day. That means it will add one more day to the school calendar in June.

In the fall, the schools had announced that they would only cancel school if widespread power outages made it necessary. The forecast of 12 – 18 inches of heavy snow may have made that seem likely.

Updated (2/2/21 8:58 am): The Southborough Library announced:

Due to the inclement weather conditions and subsequent snow removal, the Southborough Library is suspending curbside pickup service for Tuesday, February 2, 2021. The library plans to resume regular curbside pickup service starting at 10:00 AM tomorrow on Wednesday, February 3.

As for other Town Departments, the municipal buildings are already generally closed to the public with many employees working from home. (However, I’d have patience if trying to connect to a department today. There may be some reduced access to resources.)
