Sports Update: ARHS Boys Hockey in CMADA semi-finals Saturday

Since I posted on Monday, there have been some schedule updates for the Algonquin Titans and developments in regional tourneys.

On Monday night, ARHS Boys and Girls Basketball lost their Quarter Final bids in the Mid-Wach League tourney. The Boys lost 45-76 to Wachusetts and the Girls 42-49 to Shepherd Hill.

Based on the outcomes the Boys were matched against Shrewsbury Wednesday night. They lost again, 50-68. They are next scheduled to play at Westford Academy on Saturday at noon. (That’s a regular season game rescheduled from earlier this month.)

The Girls went up against Leominster and won 48-33. As I posted on Monday, the ARHS Girls are next scheduled to play Tantasqua at Westborough this Sunday. I now have more detail on the tournament.

Westborough’s Invitational Tournament for “Baypath Humane Society Day” features 8 teams. ARHS is ranked 3rd seed, and Tantasqua 6th. The second round will be on Tuesday, February 22nd.

I previously shared that ARHS Boys Ice Hockey were slated to face Marlborough in the CMADA semi-finals. That’s now been scheduled for 4:30 pm this Saturday at Navin Ice Rink.

The Ski Team was scheduled to race on Thursday. That was shifted to two days earlier in the week. While the schedule had it listed as a “Fun Race or Make Up”, results tweeted by ARHS Athletics show it was actually a Central Mass Conference Ski League competition. The Girls team finished first again, and according to the tweet, completed its regular season undefeated. The Boys team came in 4th place.

This doesn’t mean the skiers are done hitting the slopes. The State Championships are on March 1st.

Today is the start of the State Wrestling Championships. Four Gonk Wrestlers earned their place into the Division 1 Brackets. For links to event details and updates click here.
