Rec Classes: Sports for 3-10 year olds this spring & summer; Archery for ages 9+

Rec offerings this spring and summer include inclusive sports classes for young kids and Archery classes for older kids and adults.

Southborough Recreation is offering skill building sports classes for little ones this spring and summer.

Earlier this year, Rec’s Pre-K sports classes filled up with waitlists. (One that will be repeated this July, T-ball for 3-6 year olds, does still have room. Click here to learn more.)

So, Rec has brought in a new vendor, Inclyousion Sports, to offer sports classes for both 3-6 year olds and ages 7-10.

Before I get into those details, I want to point out that sessions of Archery in the Park for ages 9 to adults are also being offered this spring and summer. Scroll down for those details.

Inclyousion Sports Classes
Saturdays (3-6 year olds 9:00 – 10:00 am; 7-10 year olds 10:00 – 11:00 am)
Trottier and Neary outdoor facilities

Each weekly class focuses on a single sport over a one month session. The offerings change by month, starting with Track and Field late April through May. It then shifts to Football in June, Soccer in July, and finally Baseball in August.

Classes are promoted as:

fun and non-competitive, so that children can be successfully introduced to new sports and have opportunities to build friendships. Skill building can be modified for each child, so that children of all abilities can participate and be successful.

Each class takes place in Southborough on Saturday mornings. The first sessions appropriately take place at the Trottier Middle School outdoor track. Subsequent sports are played on Neary School’s fields.

Each session costs $110. Click here to register.

The programs are run by Inclyousion Sports which describes providing:

inclusive sports enrichment programs to children using innovative behavioral methods to teach sports, fitness and social skills.

Programs are designed by physical education, behavioral, and inclusion experts to introduce all children to a variety of sports through a series of lessons focused on skill building. Inclyousion Sports aspires to change the way that sports are taught to children through skill building, sportsmanship, leadership, confidence, and kindness.
