Make sure to bring some cash with you to Heritage Day on Monday. One of the attractions that doesn’t take credit cards is The Friends of the Southborough Library’s biggest annual fundraiser – our* Heritage Day Book and Bake Sale.
As usual, the Friends will offer one free book per child. But this year, there’s an extra reason for families with kids to swing by. We’ll be setting up a Kids table to sell games for kids and families/adults and more.
The Friends will also offer its stuff a bag sale deal. So, if you purchased a Friends’ tote in the past, be sure to bring it with you.
The sale will be held in the Library parking lot, right across from the main field. The sale will be open from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Anyone who wants to volunteer to help us out for a shift sometime that day, please email email@example.com. (Setup begins at 9:00 am.)
Proceeds from the Friends’ fundraisers are used to support Library resources and programs not covered by the regular budget. That includes most of the Library’s discount passes to museums and venues, many children’s programs throughout the year, and programs for adults and young adults.
I want to give an advance shout out here to the Library’s Cook Book Club for volunteering to run the Bake Sale at this year’s event. (Anyone else who would like to contribute goodies can drop them off that morning.)
*Full disclosure: I’m the President of The Friends of the Southborough Library. (Hope to see you at our sale!)
