Get ready to golf

The Southborough Golf Club is planning to open by April 1st.

Right now, Southborough’s golf course is under a thin layer of snow, and construction is in progress to re-align two tee boxes. But the Town’s Golf Course Committee sounds confident the Southborough Golf Club will be ready to open by April 1st.

They are encouraging people to start making plans to hit the greens (and maybe sign up for a league).

Here is the announcement I was asked to share:

Get ready! Southborough Golf Club anticipates opening for the 2023 golf season on or before April 1.

The historic nine-hole course, established in 1896, is owned by the Town of Southborough and managed by New England Golf Corp. League and individual play are welcomed. Please visit the course web site:

Improvements planned for this season include paving of the driveway and parking area, improved course signage, re-alignment of the tee boxes on holes 6 and 7, and a refreshed fleet of motor carts. Planning is also in the works for updated irrigation.

We look forward to a great season and to seeing you on the course!
