At the Wednesday night festivals, get a $10 food truck voucher from Main Street Bank for every $20 you donate to Rotary's Scholarship Fund.

The Rotary Club of Southborough is sharing details on their charitable fundraiser at this year’s Food Truck Festival. They are dubbing it “Food for Thought”.

I already told readers to mark calendars for the annual downtown festival on Wednesdays May 22nd through June 12th. Rotary’s news about vouchers in exchange for donations to their scholarship fund gives you one more reason to take part.

Again, the festival will be held from 3:30 – 7:00 pm each of the four Wednesdays (rain or shine). This will be the sixth time Rotary has put on the community event in downtown Southborough.

Here are more details from Rotary’s announcement:

You will find the festival at the intersection of Routes 30 and 85 in the center of Southborough.  Each evening four local food trucks and one ice cream truck will be parked on the lawn of Saint Mark’s school at the intersection.  As in the past there is no admission charge for attending the festival.

As in previous years the Rotary Club of Southborough sponsors a community service project during the festival.  As in the past the Club partners with Main Street Bank to encourage community support of fellow citizens in need of help.  This year’s project is a campaign to sustain the Rotary scholarship fund.  The scholarship fund was initiated over 20 years ago with a memorial grant to commemorate the life of Annie Laurie Satterfield.  As in the past, this year the Rotary Club of Southborough awarded a $3,000 scholarship to a Southborough student who is accepted to one of the Massachusetts’ state funded universities and has demonstrated a record of academic excellence.

We are calling this effort “Food for Thought”.  Again with the help of Main Street Bank we will be offering the purchase of $10.00 food vouchers that can be used as cash at the food trucks.  Vouchers can be obtained from the Rotary Club at the festival for a $20.00 donation. Think of it as a bit of generosity you can sink your teeth into.

We hope to see you at the Food Truck Festival.  It is always a fun time and has become a well loved tradition.

The Rotary Club of Southborough appreciates the support of the following organizations that help make this years festival possible:

Saint Mark’s School
Main Street Bank
Beehive
Middlesex Bank
New England Center for Children (NECC)
Fay School
Long Cadillac
Ted’s of Fayville
Avidia Bank
T & L Auto
MetroWest MiniSplits

*The festival was launched by Southborough Rotary in 2018 to be an annual spring event. The club was forced to cancel it in 2020 due to the pandemic. They were finally able to hold one in the fall of 2021. Since then, they’ve been back on schedule, holding it mid-May through Mid-June.
