Special Town Meeting moving up a week this fall

Change your Fall Town Meeting "Save the Date" to October 27th

Previously, I posted that a Special Town Meeting was tentatively scheduled for early November. Last night, the Select Board voted to reschedule the date.

According to Chair Andrew Dennington, the meeting room was booked for another use on the evening of November 3rd. I assume that refers to the Trottier Middle School auditorium.1

The room was apparently available for the evening one week prior on Monday, October 27th. The meeting is scheduled to open at 6:30 pm that night. According to Dennington, he already confirmed the new date worked for the Town Moderator, Town Clerk, and the Planning Board.

Planning is expected to prepare Articles for the Special Town Meeting for proposed zoning bylaw changes. Stay tuned for a separate update on that topic.

  1. Use of Algonquin Regional High School for the May Special Town Meeting was a special circumstance to allow a huge turnout. The only other time I’m aware it was used was during the pandemic to allow voters to space out.
