The Southborough Summer Concert Series are always “family friendly”. But the next act was specifically chosen to entertain families with young children.
Musician Stacey Peasley performed in the concert series the past two summers. (Kids may also know her from festivities hosted by Fay School.) She’s returning to the town’s outdoor stage to entertain families again next week.
Peasley’s songs are on topics to engage little ones. (Like summer days, big oceans, balloons, soapy bubbles, dinosaurs, dance parties, and playing games.)
According to Peasley’s website, the singer began performing as member of a girl group at the age of 18. For the past 10 of her 30+ year career, she has dedicated her music to children and families:
After the birth of her first child, Stacey began to write songs focused on the amazing things she observed as a new mom. Little did she know, this would develop into a brand new career combining both of her passions – music and working with children. Stacey Peasley has since written and recorded five critically acclaimed albums with awards from Creative Child Magazine, Parents’ Choice Foundation, and NAPPA. Her album Lucky Day was named one of the top 20 albums of 2014 by Musical Merry Go Round of KDHX radio St. Louis. Peasley is also the recipient of a Nickelodeon Parents Connect Parents’ Pick Award for Best Party Entertainer, as well as a Community Kangaroo Joey Award for her music classes, Lucky Day music.
Below is a sample of one of her fun, peppy songs that’s also appropriate for the season — “Swimming Pool”
The Southborough concert will take place Wednesday, June 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Neary School’s field, 53 Parkerville Road.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. You can even bring dinner and enjoy a picnic. (Sorry, no free treats will be dished out at the next event!)
Still to follow this summer are the following acts:
- August 6th – Paxton Crossing
- August 13 – Last Call Radio
The 2025 free series is sponsored by The Southborough Community Fund and Friends of Southborough Recreation.
